Persistent disparities in wealth, employment, land ownership, and economic opportunity — the direct result of historical exclusion and ongoing structural disadvantage rooted in slavery and colonial rule.
Structural discrimination within government, judiciary, police, and public institutions that perpetuates unequal treatment. Discriminatory patterns in hiring, promotion, and access to justice continue to disadvantage the Kreol community at every level.
The legal and moral obligation for comprehensive reparatory measures — acknowledgement, apology, restitution, and rehabilitation — that address the legacy of slavery, colonialism, and generations of systemic injustice.
The deliberate erasure of Kreol history from national education and collective memory denies the Kreol community its identity, its truth, and its rightful place in the history of Mauritius. Future generations are denied their heritage.
The "Malaise Créole" is not a myth or a political slogan — it is a documented, deep psychosocial wound: poverty, social exclusion, violence, addiction, and disillusionment afflicting the Kreol community as a direct consequence of historical injustice that was never addressed. Healing this requires more than charity or tokenism. It requires structural transformation, honest recognition, and real reparatory action.
